The State Kremlin Palace, which in Soviet times was called the Kremlin Congress Palace, is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
During its glorious history, the Kremlin Palace has repeatedly witnessed important events of the Russian history. In its halls congresses of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and first traditionals children's New year celebration were held, within these walls the first President of Russia has taken the oath. At the same time, the Palace was also a theater and concert venue, given to the Bolshoi Theater as a second stage. In 1992, the Palace received its modern name: the State Kremlin Palace. In 2013, after a comprehensive modernization of sound and lighting equipment, the Palace, according to the expert opinion, became one of the world's best concert halls. As of today, solemn events dedicated to national holidays, concerts of Russian and foreign pop stars, world-famous ballet performances, graduation balls and the "Kremlin New year celebration" for children, that have become a good tradition, are taking place in this outstanding Palace.
Alexander Sergeevich Kolpakov, head of the Administrative directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, noted that: "With the appointment of Pyotr Mikhailovich Shaboltai as the head of the State Kremlin Palace 20 years ago, the Kremlin Palace from being a venue for mass social and political events has become a multifunctional concert hall with a diverse repertoire."

An anniversary gala concert is scheduled at the State Kremlin Palace on December 15, 2021.
